The Executive Roundtable was born in August of 2009 in a Chicago hotel conference room when revered thought leader and accounting hall of fame inductee, Greg LaFollette, gathered 10 CEOs to discuss "common interests." Attendees included Accountant's World, Avalara, Bill.com, Copanion, CPA Practice Advisor, CPA.com, Gillware, K2 Enterprises, Orange Door, SmartVault, Speed Tax, and SurePrep.
There was no agenda, but there was a general belief that there would be value in discussing common problems and goals. That value became apparent almost immediately, and what was originally planned as a morning meeting became an all-day session which ended after a hastily arranged group dinner.
The general consensus was that the forum was, in fact, quite valuable and should be planned again. It was, and the meeting, then inelegantly referred to as "Greg's event" quickly became a must attend staple in the community of vendors serving the CPA profession. When Greg joined the executive team of CPA.com in 2012 the event became the CPA.com/AICPA Annual Executive Roundtable where it expanded and continues to grow.
Today, it is the must-attend event of the year for decision makers.
Today, it is the must-attend event of the year for decision makers from software and technology organizations servicing the community. It is not just an opportunity to explore where the accounting profession is headed, but a chance to identify strategic plays with the people who make things happen.
A special thank you to these companies that have attended every Roundtable: Avalara, Bill.com, CPA.com, and K2 Enterprises.
